"Sharkanoid is the name of a new project started by Dan Potthast (Mu330) and Rick Johnson (Mustard Plug, Bomb The Music Industry). The two of them got together and recorded some fun tunes that have now been released on one album called “Have A Great Summer”. Cool, right?
Well, yes it is. Just check out opening track “Chemicals”, which starts off amazing and then only gets better from there. It’s nothing but catchy hooks, slick keyboards and even a guitar solo! From there on the two of them just keep on going, cranking out a poppy rock ‘n roll tune after a rocking pop song and then the other way round. It’s punky, comes with a bunch of songs named after persons (“Michelle”, “Olivia”, “Bradley”, “Philip”) and pretty much every song on here would have Elvis Costello nod along approvingly. “Have A Great Summer” also features Laura Stevenson and Jeff Rosenstock and is just a friggin’ blast to listen to!"
